Ok, so here’s where I am with my story. It’s essentially a story about a couple breaking up due to the guy’s alcoholism. It covers their last day and “the straw that broke the camel’s back”. Some of the feedback that I got on it was that it needed to be longer. It needed to show more of this relationship so that when everything collapses it has more impact. What I’ve been doing today is trying to include some more scenes and the problem that I am having is balancing the good times and the bad times in this relationship. I need good times to make the breakup stronger but I need bad times so that it isn’t coming out of left field. I think I know how to strike the right balance but I’m a little out of practice from not writing for the last four months. So, after a day of writing crap, I’ve come up with plenty of ways not to write this story. Maybe tomorrow will be more productive.
